Abstract
In Indonesia Legumes are important contributors of proteib to the daily diet, especially for population of Java. There are many wellknown varioties of legumes, both non toxic as well as toxic. Some toxic varieties are also consumed, but only after labourous traditional processing. At present our Institute is crying out the determination of the nutritive values pf these legumes as these values are not yet completely reported. The nutritive values of the most used legumes vis, soybean, peanut, green gram, cowpea and kidney bean are herewith reported. Of the other legumes, the investigation is still in progress and the results will be reported later.
