Abstract

Questions about frequency, intensity, and duration of fitness from fitness status survey 1990 has been validated to obtain the optimum cut off score and measure their sensitivity and specivicity. The findings showed that in males the optimum cut off score was 48/52 with a sensitivity of 61.4% and spesificity of 45.7%; while in females the optimum cut of score was 40/44 with a sensitivity of 51.6% and spesificity of 47.8%. Compared with the test using questions from National Social Economy Survey (NSES) 1995, the sensitivity and specificity test of optimum cut off score of the two studies were not distributed evenly. (more than 60%). It means that those questions about frequency, intensity and duration of fitness from the two surveys have not been able yet to measure the physical fitness status, and only have limited use in evaluating fitness behavior.
