Abstract
Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) become an epidemic and recognized as a major cause of mortality in Indonesia. Diabetes Mellitus is linked by common preventable risk factor related to life style. The important behavior riskfactors are tobacco use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, while intermediate risk factors are hypertension, obesity and blood lipids. An Indonesia National Health Survey 2004 have been analyzed the association within the risk factors and the diseases and to create a modeling of diabetes. Obesity, hypertension had significantly associated to diabetes. A formula has been created to count the risk of certain people who suffer diabetes mellitus. This research suggested that MoH used this analysis to provide policy and planning the prevention and promoting program due to control diabetes. To strength the health care for people with diabetes, MoH should develop healthy lifestyle norms and guidelinesfor cost effective intervention with priority to diabetes.
