Abstract
Preventative care is undertaken through the
Posyandu system. This is a community activity
with technical support from nursing staff occurring
on a monthly basis. Services provided are, amongst
others, immunisation, antenatal care, family
planning and nutrition related. Currently, there is
also a nationally coordinated campaign for polio
eradication with two annual inununisation days
each year during 1995, 1996 and 1997 (Dept of
Health).
