Abstract
Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2013 is a periodic community-based research that has been
initiated since 2007. It aims to collect basic data and health indicators depicting the health conditions
at nationwide, province and district/municipality levels. The produced indicators include, inter alia,
health status and health contributing factors based on Henrik Blum’s Model. Questions adopted as
basis in developing this Riskesdes 2013 include: 1) how is to achieve public health rate at national,
province and regency/Municipality scales?; 2) What factors contribute in generating specific health
changed in province and regency/municipality?; 3) What factors and how do they contribute in
enhancing public health status at national, province and regency/municipality level?; 4) What factors
that have contributed in the changes of health issues?; and 5) How health status factors correlate?
This report can provide answers for the Questions 1 and 2. For further elaboration, they can be seen
in Book 2: “Riskesdes 2013 in Figures”. For Questions 3, 4 and 5, they will be reported in 2014 in the
form of advanced analysis.
