Most people (99%) dispose their waste water into the gutter, but almost half of all gutters were not in good condition. Thereby mosquito larvae were found in more than 50% of the gutters. More than half (56.5%) of the households were using plastic bags for their solid waste and only 13.1% were using containers. The income of the respondents 19.2% less than Rp 100,000; 47.8% were Rp 100,000 - Rp 200,000, 19.2% between Rp 200,000 - Rp 300,000 and 13.7% more than Rp 300,000 per month.
According to the prominent persons of the community the major health problems in the slum areas were unsanitary solid waste and excreta disposal and unhealthy housing/settlement.
