Abstract

The Communicable Disease Research Centre in collaboration with Sub Directorate of Malaria - Directorate General of CDC & EH conducted some studies in certain places which may represent malaria condition for Indonesia. Besides collecting basic comprehensive data knowledge gain in this studies will be useful to develop appropriate control strategies and will strengthen collaboration with researcher in universities of other institutions i.e. NAMRU-2, Hospitals, Army Health Research Unit, Transmigration Research Centre etc. The objectives of this study were: - to test whatner one cycle of residual spraying using DDT is quite effective for area with one peak of vector density per year - to study the parasite/fever clearence and side affect of NSP for treatment of P.falciparum.
