Abstract

The extended analyses of Health Baseline Research have been conducted to asses completed immunization status among 12-23 months old children related with its influenced factors in South Sumatra Province. The study used the Health Baseline Research 2007 that was conducted by National Institute of Health Research and Development Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This study aimed to provide relevance information about distribution and coverage of children whose complete immunization and its influenced factors. The study found that there were association between Complete immunizl1tion status of children with occupation (p<0.05), level of education (p=O.OOO, OR=1.557, 95%CI=I.234-1.965) and location of residence area (p= 0,000, OR=2.071, 95%CI=1.567-2.739). On the other hand, there were no association between sex and level of social economy with complete immunization status of children. This study also showed that there were significantly differences between complete immunization status of children not only with distance of health services both hospital and posyandu (p=O.001, OB.=1.503, 95%CI=I.191-1.897 and p = 1,191-1,897 and p = 0,000, OR=1.992, 95%CI=1.536-2.584 respectively) but also with time consumed to reach health service of hospital and posyandu (p=O.005, OR=1.954, 95%CI=1.219-3.133 and p = 0,000, OR = 3.554, 95%CI=1.723-7.330 respectively. Statistically, this study this study found that there was association between complete immunization status of children with delivery helper at first birth (p=O.OO1, OR=1.509, 95%CI=1.196-1.905), on the contrary number of children below five year on family had no association with complete immunization status of children. This study recommended that the government of South Sumatra province should pay more attention on immunization program trough revitalized program of posyandu and provide affordable even free of charge and accessible of immunization service. Improvement health education can be applied to solve the problems that were issued from the findings of the study.
