Abstract

Hypertension is characterized by a diastolic reading above 90 mm/Hg, and a systolic above 140 mm/Hg, or both. There are two types of primary hypertension (essential or idiopathic) and secondary. Morbidity of primary hypertension is 89 % cases. Many factors are implicated in the develoment of primary, or essential hypertension. Some of the recognized risk factors include family history, environment, salt ingestion and sensitivity, race, hyperlipidema, smoking and diet. The account of secondary hypertension is only a small minority of pasient, but must be ruled out in all cases, as discovery and treatment of the cause will cure the hypertension. This information is not intended to provide or confirm diagnosis nor is any claim made as to therapeutic efficacy. The holistic health movement is based on defination of health that includes the mental, emotional, social and spiritual side of life as well as of physical. The holistic practices choose a holistic teraphy. The therapeutic will cure the hypertension is included therapeutic of drugs, somatic, spiritual-emotion, nutrition, food, and botanical or herb formula for hypertension for self medication. The main herbs for self medication of hypertension are Androgrphis paniculata, Allium sativum, Apium graveolens, Centella asiatica, Gynura sp., Morindra citrifolia, Orthosiphon staminus, Phylantus nerururi, Vinca rosea, and zea mays.
